We had a wonderful time at our class last night! It’s nice to do something a little bit different and get out of the house on a Friday night! Thanks to Duffy and Merrilee for being great teachers and thanks to all of you fun ladies who were able to come out! Check out what we made in the pictures posted below! If you have been thinking about coming for a class but haven’t done one yet, we would LOVE to have you! Also, please don’t think you have to sign up with another person or a group! These classes are designed to be busy, and we enjoy getting to chat with new people!

I am going to do a quick shout out to the Marietta Tigers 7th grade Girls Basketball team! They won the Washington County Championship by beating Pleasants Co. on Thursday night. Audrey decided to play basketball this year, and she has had so much fun with great teammates and great coaches! The school celebrated by giving them a little parade with the band playing as they walked around the school! How fun!

This has been the oddest weather for a winter that I can remember! Thursday was so warm (I think it the temperature reached 67!) and windy. This week looks similar to last week……above average temperatures. I guess one positive, at least the groundhog has been wrong on his prediction! But I think there may be some students (and teachers) that were hoping for another couple of snow days to make a snowman, watch movies, and drink hot chocolate.

Here’s our weekly outside update…..

Only 37 days until that delightful season we have all been waiting for!!

Did you know…..that when you are biting into some delicious broccoli, cauliflower, or artichokes, that you are actually eating flowers? I love all three of these veggies equally, and this information makes me love them even more! Now, Jim…..I don’t want you to think you can buy me a bunch of broccoli or cauliflower on Tuesday and expect that to count for my Valentine’s gift. Lol.

I made our first order for some perennials and herbs. Looking at all the pretty pictures is getting me very excited for the coming months. Orders will be made soon for hanging baskets and annuals Let’s make our gardens the best that they have ever looked this year!

Here’s what is happening on the inside!

Let Huck’s help you show your loved ones and friends that you care this week for Valentine’s Day!

We have been busy making chocolate covered strawberries! We will still be able to take your order if you haven’t been able to place your order yet! We certainly want to help out all our last minute customers! At $19.99 per dozen, you can’t beat that price anywhere around!

There are other options for Valentine’s Day as well! Valentine’s Day baskets, fresh baked cookies, pies, and other goodies, fudge, candies, licorice, jams, jellies, crafts, hot chocolate bombs, candles, soaps, etc. We have teddy bears as well!

Huck’s Easter Ham sale!! Easter is April 9th, so I know many of us aren’t thinking about it yet, BUT you may want to consider ordering your Easter ham. You don’t have to pay until it comes, and there are many different sizes and types. Need a small ham…..there are some as small as 1 or 2 lbs. Want a spiral or a semi boneless ham?….You could order those as well! The only thing is, you have to do is order by February 15th. I posted pictures of the order form below, and we have order forms for you to take up at the register if you want to see a paper copy.

There is the new February version of the MHS newspaper The Original. Grab a copy for free at the counter to see what’s going on at Marietta High.

Did you know that Huck’s can make all-occasion cakes or cupcakes? We are finally ready to take orders for custom-made cakes and cupcakes. Our cake baker is so very talented, and she’s very sweet as well! Her cakes and cupcakes are beautiful, and beyond that, they are absolutely delicious! We would love for you to try one!

Not sure what to eat for the Super Bowl on Sunday? How about some Walnut Creek summer sausage and some Troyer smoked cheeses? We have summer sausages in Garlic, Original and Pit Smoked. The Troyer cheese comes in Hot Pepper and Cheddar. We can even slice these up for you if you would like! Grab some Cabaret or Breton crackers (Gluten Free is available), and you will have something to relax and enjoy with while you watch some football and the commercials!

We are adding to our canned goods area. We now have cans of corn, black beans, and Great Northern beans. Sounds like some time to make some Taco or Bean Soup.

We asked our salesman what some of his best selling Amish Wedding items are that we don’t have in stock. He picked out Candied Jalapeños, Sweet Pickled Garlic, and Hot Pickled Garlic. These can now be found on our shelves! You might not be able to eat these on a first date or at your work lunch table, but any other time, you should be just fine! Ha!

A customer had suggested ordering some Old Fashioned Vanilla Peaches. We ordered them, but they have not arrived yet. Once they do, I will keep you all updated!

If you like Cheez-its, you will have to try our new Baker’s Harvest Cheese Crackers from Walnut Creek. They are crispy, cheesy, and the perfect snack. I know these will be a hit with my kids!

There are boxes of saltines from Baker’s Harvest too!

We added cantaloupe to our produce area. There are also now some white onions. They look so pretty!

Easter candy has arrived. We will be getting that bagged up and out after Valentine’s Day ends. Don’t you just love Easter colors?

Want to make some chili? The ladies are going to be making us a nice looking display with all the fixings you need to make some! We even got some chili powder this week! Add some grilled cheese sandwiches using our cheese and freshly baked sliced bread, and you will have a tasty supper. (One of the ladies at Huck’s told me to try our pepperoni cheese to make grilled cheese sandwiches. We made them at home, and my family loved them! It adds a little kick to your everyday grilled cheese!) And don’t forget to grab some Zimmer’s ground beef for that chili!

We have been working hard on our homemade soups. Thank you for buying them up! They certainly don’t last long! Please give some suggestions for some other easy and yummy soups you would like to see us make.
