Hello! We’ve been so fortunate to have another beautiful week in the books this fall!

Here’s what is happening outside……

All our fall flowers are still Buy One Get One Free! There isn’t a whole lot left, (which is just what we were hoping for!) but there are still some beautiful large mums and some hanging baskets as well. We have a couple carts filled up with fall annuals. If you don’t want two of something, we will also do 50% off!

We just got in two bins of XL and XXL carving pumpkins! This is the week to pick them up if you haven’t already. Our family tradition is to carve pumpkins on Halloween in the early evening, and then light a candle in it until it burns down. Trick or treat afternoon and evening is usually always busy getting our costumes ready and getting all of the cousins together to eat and play games before trick-or-treating, so that’s why we started to wait to carve pumpkins until October 31st. What about you? When do you like to carve pumpkins?

You may see Jim blowing off the leaves outside. That seems to be one of his favorite things to do right now at the market! LOL. If you beep your horn, and he doesn’t wave, I’m sure it’s because he didn’t hear you!

I did take a few pictures of the front of the market, (because it makes me happy), but I decided I would show you the mums my mother bought at Huck’s. They are show stopping! So, when you look through our pictures this week, I hope you enjoy how everything is displayed at her house! She said they have been the nicest mums she has ever had. I hope you all agree as well! If you have a pretty picture of your mums or porch decorations, post it in the comments. I LOVE to see how other people decorate!

There’s lots going on inside……

Today, I made some more caramel apples! We will keep making them as long as we have enough caramel and as long as we still have Ohio apples! Some are plain and some are with nuts. It’s your choice!

Speaking of apples, here are the kinds you can get: Jonagold, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, McIntosh, Cortland, and Honeycrisp. Jim said it’s just about time for him to get in some Winesap apples! Winesap apples are usually ready in late fall. They get their name for their wine and spicy flavor. They are an all-purpose apple that can be used fresh, in apple sauce and pies, and in ciders. Yum! We have a box mix of Apple Crisp where you add your own choice of fresh apples. That’s on my list of items to try! There is apple cider and mulled cider spices to enjoy for the next couple of weeks as well.

Thanksgiving is about a month away, and we are ready to take your orders for Thanksgiving pies. Next week, I will write a list of all the types that we have, so you can start planning your menu!

My daughter has started to make some clay bead bracelets to sell in the market. She’s 12 and enjoys being crafty and coming into Huck’s. She’s thrilled that she has already sold five out of the 10 that she made. Thank you if you were someone who bought one!

I want to tell you about something that Jim and I are really excited about!! We are going to be offering fresh, quality ground beef and sausage from Zimmerview Farm in Marietta. In the next week or two, you will be able to purchase this farm fresh meat at our market! It will be so nice to know that your meat is local and raised on one of the long standing farms in our area. Growing up on our grandparent’s family farm on Route 26, we always had Zimmer’s dairy cattle on our land, and now we have their beef cattle in our fields. I took a couple of pictures of them. The picture of the black cattle on the hill was taken from our front porch last evening.
