Happy Memorial Day weekend! This weekend is considered the official start of summertime! I know there are a few more weeks until the Summer Solstice, but we made it!

Doesn’t downtown Marietta look so pretty? The fuschia hanging baskets, all the American flags across the Putnam Street Bridge, and the storefronts give me three more reasons to be proud to be from our river town.

We will be open 9:00-3:00 on Memorial Day!

Looking for a fun way to celebrate Memorial Day? The Memorial Day Parade in downtown Marietta starts at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Many other communities are also celebrating with parades as well. There have been over 1.1 million soldiers that have died in U.S. wars starting with the Revolutionary War. These brave men and women sacrificed their lives for our country, our Constitution, and our freedom. We are eternally grateful to each of them for helping to pave the path of the land of the free!

Congratulations to all the 2024 graduates! I know that college graduations are over and done, but in the last week or so and this weekend there will be many high schools holding their graduations! Best wishes to all of these graduates as they start a new, exciting chapter in their lives! Some join the armed forces while others go into the workforce or continue their education. No matter what you new graduates do next, one thing is for sure, we are SO proud of you!

A huge THANK YOU for your votes in The Marietta Times Reader’s Choice Awards! We were thrilled to hear that Huck’s Farm Market is a top-5 finalist in 7 of the 8 categories we were nominated in: Deli, Bakery, Produce Store, Farmer’s Market, Lunch, Sandwich, and Subs! This next round of voting will start June 15th!

Here is our outside update!

10% off all live plants!

Add some color to your front stoop or porch. There is still plenty to look at and choose from! …..veggies, herbs, fruits, annuals, perennials, succulents, planters, and baskets! There are shade plants and sun lovers.

Here’s what is happening on the inside of Huck’s market….

Do you need a last minute tray for a graduation party or Memorial Day picnic? It’s not too late to order something!

If you are looking for something to take this weekend to your picnic, we have you covered! You could get a pound of Baked Potato Salad, Pasta Salad, Macaroni Salad, or one of the other delicious sides in our deli case. You could take some cheeses, jams, and some Benton or Cabaret crackers. A pie or some cookies might hit the spot as well!

Rhubarb is back in the produce section.

Another shipment of homegrown strawberries is coming on Monday.

For all you coffee lovers….come try our new hand dipped ice cream flavor….Coffee Brew! Yum! It is down below, because we don’t have enough spots up top, so just ask us if that is a flavor you would like. We also have a chocolate dip on some of the cake cones. They are a popular choice! And look for waffle cones this week as well!

If you didn’t know that we have Velvet hand dipped ice cream, here are our flavors: Dutch Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, Cookie Dough, Butter Pecan, Strawberry, Vanilla, Buckeye Classic, Cherry Nut, and Coffee Brew.

Look for our new dip mixes to be on the shelves this week! We are starting with Cucumber Dill and French Onion. Just add sour cream to these classic mixes for veggies and chips. They are so good, plus it’s cheaper and fresher than what you can buy in the store!

This week we were asked to make some small size cemetery saddles. They turned out so pretty! Keep these orders coming! I love making them! Jim and I have a good system. He cuts the flowers apart with wire cutters, and then I arrange them. It’s a good time for us to get to chat for a little bit at the end of a busy day. Old Jimmy always knows how to make me laugh!

Our oldest son, Cam, has started working a couple of days a week at Huck’s. He’s enjoying it so far, and he says there is always something to do! Be sure to say hello to him!

I want to share one of my very favorite products at Huck’s! If you haven’t tried the Vinaigrette by Garlic Expressions, you really should! It’s now my very favorite salad dressing, and every few days, I think to myself, I need to get a Huck’s salad with that Vinegar and Oil dressing. I really do crave it! Lol.

Huck’s can do all sorts of custom made meat, cheese, veggie, fruit, and sandwich trays. These are perfect for meetings, graduation parties, get togethers, reunions, funerals, etc. You can call, message us on Facebook, email us at hucksfarmmarket@gmail.com, or send us a fax at 740-373-0024.
