“It’s the most wonderful time of the year….!” I hope you all are getting a chance to enjoy the season among the hustle and bustle! I will admit I’m a little bit behind, and I’m trying not to let a wave of stress wash over me when I think about it! Ha! I’m sure someone else can relate! Oh well, it will all get done!

Are you one of the those people who loves to have Christmas music playing in their car the whole month of December? If so, this week is all about Christmas music!

Brenda Lee was just 13 when she sang “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” 65 years ago. Her song never made it to #1 until this week! That’s amazing!

Singing Christmas carols actually stopped a battle during WWI for the night! On Christmas Eve 1914, the British heard carols being sung and trees being put up on the German side. They sent messages to each other, and the next day the British and German soldiers exchanged presents, buried those who had died in battle, repaired their trenches, and played football. Each side sang the same carols at the same time in their own languages. The fighting began again on December 26th. (sapaindia.com)

“Jingle Bells” was originally written for Thanksgiving! And it was also the first song played in Outer Space on December 16, 1965!

“White Christmas” by Bing Crosby is the best selling song of all time with over 50 million copies sold since 1942.

Finally, the Puritans banned singing Christmas carols back in the 1600s in Great Britain, because they thought it was pagan and an inappropriate way to show their faith.
