Hello! How are you all doing? Wow! What a change in the weather! We have had two rainy, dreary days. And what about that temperature change! Looks like it will be a high in the 40s all week with lows in the upper 20s or lower 30s. Brrrrr! May be time to get an extra blanket on the beds! The Goeller Family has two birthdays this week. Our littlest, Sydney, turned 7 yesterday on Veteran’s Day, and our 2nd oldest, Seth, turns 14 on Monday. I’m sure that you can relate that time flies in life, and sometimes you wish it would just slow down!

I also want to take a moment to give a shout out to our Marietta High School Fall programs. We had such great seasons this year, and school was so fun this week with a pep rally and a send off for the Lady Soccer Team’s appearance at the Final Four! We have had 3 teams send players to state this fall (Lady Tennis, Cross Country, and Lady Soccer) and our Vocal Point left to compete in a National Competition this weekend in Dayton. Jim and I both graduated from Marietta (Class of ’97….Straight from Heaven. Lol.), and I’m in my 4th year of teaching Spanish at MHS!

Weekly update on the outside……

Things have been getting cleaned up out front at the market! Everyone has been working hard getting things put away from the flower season. We’ve had a fun fall with the pumpkins and flowers, but it’s time to look forward to the holiday season! Hopefully, you have gotten a chance to see our inflatable turkey out front. He lights up at night too!

We are getting our plans ready for what’s to come outside, so be looking for some live wreaths in a couple of sizes to be coming very soon. We will have some Christmas bows to add to them as well! I love a live wreath with a pretty bow on my front door at Christmas time. It smells good, and I always leave mine up through the winter. It makes for a very homey and welcoming feeling.

Here’s what’s happening on in the inside!

Our bakery is buzzing with all sorts of breads, cookies, pies, fry pies, and Whoopie pies. There really is something for everyone!

We finally have our homemade from scratch mini banana and banana nut breads ready to start selling. Before we bought Huck’s, we started a small bakery during the pandemic called The Bread Basket Bakery. We have been trying to get our items added to Huck’s, but we’ve had a whirlwind of a Fall. We are happy that we finally have time and can add these items to our shelves.

If you are needing Thanksgiving pies, let us do your baking! You can call us at 740-373-2484, email us at hucksfarmmarket@gmail.com, or message us on Facebook to place your order. We will be open the day before Thanksgiving, but we will be closing at 4:00 p.m.

If you ordered a turkey or ham for Thanksgiving, it will be delivered this week. We will give you a call to let you know when it has arrived!

I’m going to be making some homemade dip packets for us. I’ve been gathering up some spices and recipes and am looking forward to sharing them with you! They are the kind of dip mixes that all you have to do is add mayo, cream cheese, sour cream, or something else equally as easy, and then stir! Then, take some veggies, or some type of chips, and you will be all ready for your holiday parties at work, home, or at a friend or family’s house. My goal is to be working on these all week and have them in the store next Saturday.

Friday, December 2nd: Christmas Pine Garland/Place Setting Class

Please consider joining us for our newest class! Merilee Burton is going to teach us how to make a live Christmas Pine Garland from start to finish. She is also going to show us how to embellish it and dress up our Christmas table settings with a cloth napkin Christmas tree (So adorable!). The cost is $60. Here is what you will get to complete this project: 3 ft. garland that you will make from hand-picked (by us! Ha!) pines and holly, a bow made by Merilee with your choice of ribbon (see below), matching ribbon to make tufts, 3 ft. battery operated soft white twinkle lights, personalized favor to take home, and a Christmas red cloth napkin. Duffy Sprague from Duffy’s Designs will also be there to show you items that she can customize for gifts. Refreshments will be provided, and the store will be open for shopping as well. We have room for 16 people, and we would love if you would sign up! Ask a friend, co-worker, or family member to join you, or sign up individually. We will have a fun time meeting new people and learning something new! We will have plastic gloves, but you may want to bring your own gardening gloves, so your hands don’t get all sticky. Please register, choose your ribbon, and pay by Sunday, November 27th to reserve your spot.

In this week’s pictures, I have added a picture with the ribbon choices for the class. I tried to pick a variety, so that everyone can choose one they like! When you sign up, please tell us which ribbon you would like, because Merilee is going to go ahead and make our bows ahead of time. #1: Natural Linen with Cardinals on Branches #2: Red and Black Buffalo Check #3: Natural Linen with Red Glitter Berries and Branches #4: Red Silk with White Snowflakes #5: Claire Plaid with Red, Green, Ivory, and Gold #6: Christmas Red Velvet (not pictured)
