Hey, everyone! Hope you have had a great week! We did some much needed rain, but I can’t believe these cool temperatures! I haven’t put the A/C on all week at the house.

Happy Father’s Day to all of you dads out there! We love how hard you work, your dad jokes (The kids always tease Jim about his love of these! Ha!), the fun things you like to do with the fam, and how much you love your families! Dads are the BEST! I had the most wonderful dad, and I am so thankful my kids have the perfect dad for them!

We had the best time last night at the first Welcome Sign class! Make sure to check out the pictures of what they made! You can sign up through Monday to do this same class next Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m.

There is so much to do in Southeastern Ohio! I’m going to highlight one fun thing each week that I want to do with my family this summer. One thing that I have never done but would like to do is to do one of the Front Street Ghost Treks every Saturday night from June-October. It starts at 8:00 p.m., and you have to meet at the fountain by the levee.

Here’s our outside update…..

Live plants are still all 50% off!

I may be biased towards Huck’s, but our flowers and ferns at home look the best they ever have this year! My window boxes are so pretty. I hope your flowers and plants from Huck’s are looking good as well! I haven’t started fertilizing weekly yet, but I will start in the next week or so. I just water every other day until the water comes out the bottom on my potted plants. I also count to 15 or 20 as I water my new plants in the ground.

Jim and I got the doors outside at the market painted a pretty green….it’s called Chopped Cilantro. It reminds me of produce, plants and farming…..everything a farmer’s market stands for! We are going to keep at it! There is a lot more to do!

Here’s what is happening on the inside of the market this week!

We have some updated info on the Michigan Tart Cherries! First of all, we have prices to share with you! ****10 pound slush packs are $47.99 ****27 pound slush packs are $99.99 **** 10 pound boxes (2- 5 pound bags) of Individual Quick Frozen Cherries are $44.99. Payment must be received by July 5th. The order must be in by July 6th, and they tell us they cannot take late orders or any add-ons. Cherries will arrive on Wednesday, August 2nd in the afternoon.

Some of you have been asking about these cherries. Here’s what I found out! Montmorency cherries and are grown in Northwest Michigan…they are tart and tangy! They have lots of health benefits and can be used in so many ways. You can eat them as is, add them to smoothies, or make jams, jellies, or preserves with them. The most popular way is to use them in baking. They are perfect for pies because their tartness is a perfect balance to the sweetness of baked goods. (minnetonkaorchards.com) You won’t want to miss a chance to get on the list! You can call the market, message us on Facebook, or order at the register. You can call in and pay over the phone if you would like.

I love homegrown produce season! Let’s all take advantage of the great, fresh items that will be in for the next several months!

Worthington Farm has brought in homegrown local cabbage, zucchini, and yellow squash! Yum!

Don’t forget those Ripley, WV high tunnel tomatoes. We are getting rave reviews!

Southern watermelon, cantaloupe, green beans (stringless and Halfrunners) and corn on the cob are all tasty options!

We have Ohio apples and local strawberries!

There are great looking potatoes, onions, cucumbers, etc.!

We have all sorts of yummy baked goods for you, made fresh each morning and evening! We have the best bakers!

Here are a couple new desserts we have added to the deli case! Homemade banana pudding and chocolate caramel delight. I can’t decide which tastes better!

We also got in some of the extra large whole dill pickles! Wouldn’t that add a delightful crunch as a side to your sub or sandwich? Yes! They are 99 cents each!

Don’t forget about the local meat in our freezer! You can get cuts of chicken, turkey, and of course ground beef or ground sausage. Thanks to Zimmerview Farm, Peck’s Farm, and Cornerstone Homestead for providing us with such quality meats!

“Beans, beans, the magical fruit….” (I won’t finish the song! Ha!) We have several bags of dried beans on our shelves at Huck’s: black beans, pinto, Great Northern, Navy, and I love canned beans in a pinch, but there is nothing better than soaking and using dried beans when you have the time! Pick up a hunk of ham and make some soup beans and ham!

One of Audrey’s friends has started a Scrunchie business called Sew Cute Scrunchies! She has dropped off 10 scrunchies. Kids will love these! These are a perfect way to get your hair in a top knot for a day of cleaning or lounging!

Check out the note cards, occasion cards, and notepads by Forever Caroline! Julie has made the most adorable display with tomatoes! Check it out!

If you are looking for a gift, check out our crafts, candles by Duck Creek, and soaps and scrubs by Cornerstone Homestead.

Huck’s can do all sorts of custom made meat, cheese, veggie, fruit, and sandwich trays. These are perfect for meetings, graduation parties, get togethers, reunions, funerals, etc. You can call, message us on Facebook, email us at hucksfarmmarket@gmail.com, or send us a fax at 740-373-0024.
