Hopefully, you are having a great start to your school year! School is back in session, and if the second half of the school year goes as quickly as the first, it will be spring before we know it!

114 Putnam Street Update: Things are coming along at our new location! Our tentative open date is Monday, January 22nd. We are working hard to make sure that date sticks! Crossing our fingers!

One thing I am excited about with the new location is our craft nights! We will be able to have them at our Putnam Street location without moving a lot of things and being crammed in! Yay! We have some wonderful ideas in the works, so stay tuned for that!

Here’s our outside update!

It’s a slow time for sure outside. But we are making all sorts of plans for Springtime! There are 74 more days until Spring. That doesn’t seem like too many. It’s been pretty mild so far this winter, but there may be some winter weather coming in the next week or so. My sister and I faithfully read Chris Bailey’s weather blog. He used to be a meteorologist out of Charleston, but he moved to Kentucky several years ago. He posts a blog daily, and they are fun to read! He includes a lot of maps and even though he is forecasting mainly for Kentucky now, he always includes Southeast Ohio and most of West Virginia as well.

The website Growing in the Garden has a wonderful article called “6 Habits of Highly Successful Gardeners.” Here is their list of things we should do everyday in our gardens during the growing season. 1. Pay attention to the watering. (Check for plants that need watered and those that are overwatered.) 2. Keep up with daily pruning, wedding, and deadheading. (Doing this daily keeps it manageable.) 3. Look for bugs that are both good and bad. (Take action before it becomes a big problem.) 4. Look for the early signs of disease (Treat accordingly.) 5. Observe new growths and blooms. (Enjoy your plants! This is the best part!) 6. Keep up with harvesting. (This will ensure a long, bountiful produce season!) They have lots of neat little tidbits under each of these habits, so be sure to check out this article!

Here’s our weekly update for inside!
